A little bit about Crowsfoot Sgian Dubh...

As an essential part of our national dress the Sgian Dubh has a special place in the history and traditions of Scotland.

Small knives of this sort have been worn and used by Scots for centuries. Although the origin of their place in Scottish national dress remains unclear, it is known that they were once used for a range of everyday tasks from skinning game to preparing food.

In keeping with this tradition a Crowsfoot Sgian Dubh is not simply beautiful but also robust, sharp, and capable.

Every Crowsfoot Sgian Dubh is hand made by me in my workshop at home here in Melrose, in the heart of the Scottish Borders.

And another thing...

As a licensed knife dealer, I make a wide range of other knives in all shapes and sizes including folders, kitchen knives, sloyds and knives for outdoor activities like bushcraft and camping. Have a look in my shop to see what is avaialble now.
